‘Subject to Functional Replication’ is an installation where everything has a duality, everything can be or appears to be long lasting but has ephemeral qualities and can be replaced easily. A set of tools and a tool rack/ torture device where the “tools” organically shaped as humans hanged, ready to be used, ready to be thrown and replaced when they are no longer functional. ‘Subject to Functional Replication’ allows the audience to sneak a peak into the “production process” It has 3 main elements, the first one is the tone of the film , a gritty tone, secondly, the glitch, this as an analogy of the physical exhaustion and numbness of the worker. And last 2 simple gestures, one is the supervisor doing the swish motion with the coins to put them in the bag, a quota, and a never ending cycle. and two the actual bag of coins which you can all see in the other door, again and again coins being tossed, coins breaking, just as the workers are.
